The Army should be removed from the North -Vigneswaran

Northern Province Chief Minister states that incidents like the aftermath of the rape and murder of student should never happen again.

120 people were arrested and remanded in this incident.

This should never again occur further stated the Minister. He further made an eyebrow raising statement that armed forces should be removed from the North.

His arguments were that an army residing a prolonged time in one region gives way to many problems. He claims that this will result in rape and exceeding alcohol and drug distribution amongst the people.

The war may have ended and the physical acts of terror may not occur but that not mean that the blood has been cleansed from the land. The war left scars that need time to heal and for that time the army must overlook the North. The sleeping seeds of chaos should not be allowed a second chance to take root.
