Srilanka Committed to National & Regional Security – President

The Germany delegation called on President Sirisena at the Presidential Secretariat yesterday (7).

Addressing a Parliamentary delegation from Germany, the Head of State said the foreign policy of the government is based on the principle that the relationship with one country should not have an adverse effect on another country.

The President thanked the German Parliamentary Delegation for the assistance received from Germany for development in Sri Lanka for decades.

President Sirisena requested Germany’s assistance for technological training and water purification to prevent Chronic Kidney Diseases.

President Maithripala Sirisena said Sri Lanka is committed to ensure national security as well as regional security.

The German Parliamentary delegation extended its fullest support to President Sirisena’s policies in order to strengthen reconciliation, democracy and to develop the country.

They congratulated President Sirisena on his successful implementation of several important programmes after forming the new government.
