Retiring and New IGP

Followed by Sri Lanka’s 33rd IGP N. K. Illangakoon, who joined the police in 1982 retirement  from  today after five years of service at the helm, President Maithripala Sirisena nominated the names of Senior DIGs Pujitha Jayasundera, SM Wickramasinghe and Chandana Wickramaratne for the post of IGP.

The Constitutional Council will meet on the 18th of April to select  a new Inspector General of Police.
