Ms. Parliament 2016 Selected
The traditional ‘Aluth Avurudu’ celebrations of Parliament organized by the Parliamentary Union were held under the patronage of Speaker Karu Jayasuriya with much vibrancy and fellowship at the Torrington Grounds throughout the day on 09th April.
The much anticipated ‘Ms. Parliament’ pageant also took to the stage at the celebrations, declaring Ms. Yashodha Nimanthi Ranasinghe as the Ms. Parliament 2016.
Raban playing, tug-of-war, eye-placing on the elephant, bun-eating, and several other games and other age-old practices were among the highlights that dominated the day’s chain of events to the much amusement of all the onlookers.
