Six Top Level Police Officers Subject to Inquiry in Thajudeen Murder
During Mahinda Rajapakshe regime , police report submitted then stated that on 16th May 2012, the car in which Wasim Thajudeen traveled all of a sudden got burned and he died. His charred body was recovered next day on 17th May 2012. After the change of Government on 8th January 2016, it was widely alleged that the death of Wasim Thajudeen was not an accident but a murder. Followed by it fresh investigation began.
The CID has submitted a B report to the Court.
For concealing evidence in Wasim Thajudeen’s murder, then Narahenpita Police Criminal Branch Officer In Charge,Sumith Chambika Perera was arrested and remanded up to 5th May 2016. In his confession he said that he was compelled by his superior officers to twist it to investigate the murder on the line of an accident.
Now,steps have been taken to inquire from six top level police officers in connection with the murder of Rugby Player, Wasim Thajudeen. This will be done by the CID.
