Weather Forecast For 17th February 2017

Fairly strong gusty winds are expected over the country (up to 40-50kmph) and surrounding sea areas (up to 60kmph).

The showery condition is expected to reduce again and likely to enhance during 19^th-20^th of February (particularly in the southern half of the island).

Several spells of light showers will occur in the Eastern and Uva provinces and in the Hambantota district.

Showers or thundershowers are likely at a few places in the Sabaragamuwa province after 2.00 pm.

There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers. General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning activity
