Court’s Severe Warning to Duminda De Silva

 The Colombo High Court Trial-at-Bar hearing the Bharatha Lakshman Premachandra murder case was heard yesterday.  When the trial into the murder of Premachandra was taken up yesterday before the Special Trial-at-Bar comprising High Court Judges Shiran Gunaratne, Pathmini N. Ranawaka and C.B.S. Morias, the third accused Chaminda Ravi Jayanath alias Dematagoda Chaminda was giving evidence.

During  that time, the Trial-at-Bar Bench noticed Duminda De Silva abruptly leaving the Court room without Court permission. When inquired as to why he left the Court room, the former MP said that he was compelled to go out to take a  drink / water.

The Court observed that the accused should have informed his necessity to the Court, without leaving the Court room. Hence, he was severely warned not to repeat it.
