Court Prevents Joint Opposition from Entering Shalika grounds

Police spokesman ASP Ruwan Gunasekara said, an interim order has been issued by Court preventing members of the “Joint Opposition” and SLTB trade unions from entering Shalika Grounds in Narahenpita for 14 days from yesterday(29).

The May Day rally of the self-styled Joint Opposition was scheduled to commence from Shalika Grounds and at Kirulopane Grounds on Sunday (May 01).

However, the reservations made by the leaders of the group had been cancelled abruptly prompting the Joint Opposition to accuse the government of attempting to “sabotage” their rally.
