Heavy Rainfalls & Strong Winds Expected Today

The Department of Meteorology has said, that the atmospheric disturbance in the vicinity of Sri Lanka is likely to develop further.

Under its influence, windy and showery weather over the country and surrounding sea areas is expected to be enhanced by this evening. Cloudy skies are also expected over most parts of the island due to the atmospheric disturbance.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at most places in the Western, Southern, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Uva and Eastern provinces today, while thundershowers will occur elsewhere particularly during the afternoon and night.

Heavy falls of around 150 mm are also likely at some places, particularly in the southern half of the island.
