Followed by an incident, where Eastern Chief Minister publicly scolded Eastern Navy Officer in presence of an American Diplomat, Governor of Eastern Province and other Dignitaries, Navy has submitted a report in this connection to the Defence Ministry. In the meantime Wimal Weerawansa, MP said the Chief Minister of Eastern Province should apologise to concerned Navy officer.
Followed by this and wide publicity given in the media, Secretary of Defence has declared that three Forces military camps/ installation are out of bounds to Eastern Chief Minister.
Hence, Eastern Chief Minister cannot enter any of three forces military camps/ installation even for a function or celebration.
