In respect of Vans and Lorries no changes in tax has been made
The Vehicle Imported Association stated that the prices of the vehicles with an engine capacity exceeding 1000cc and trishaws/ Three wheeler are expected to increase, following the increase in the Minimum Tax rate .
This increase takes place due to the Minimum Rate Tax increase which came into effect midnight yesterday.
Accordingly, prices of vehicles after increase in minimum rate tax would be:
Prius car – Rs 7.2 million
Nissan X- Trial – Rs 8 million.
Three wheeler tax alone – Rs 400,000.
The tax on Maruti Suzuki Alto- Rs 800,000 to Rs 1.2 million.
Minimum tax for a 1500 cc is Rs 3 million
Tax on vehicle capacity between 1500 cc – 1600 cc would be Rs 3.5 – Rs 4 million
