No Additional Fee on Heavy Traffic Route Bus Fares

The Chairman of the Lanka Private Bus Owners  Association Gemunu Wijeratne addressing a media briefing yesterday said an additional fee will be charged from commuters taking into account heavy traffic experienced on the streets, with effect from the 1st of July.

However ,the government said it will not allow an additional fee to be added to the existing bus fare of private bus services. on heavy traffic routes as claimed by the Private Bus Owners’ Association Gemunu Wijeratne.

Deputy Minister of Transport ,Asoka Abeysinghe said no discussions have been held in this regard.
