Black flags to welcome MR to Polonnaruwa

Former President Mahinda Rajapakse has been attending many religious observances around the country, meeting followers and Party members and once again steadily attempting what many would call a start at a second coming into the mainstream Political Arena.

The former President requested Political leaders to advise their followers against stupid actions. The former President made this request in response to news of black flags being raised to protest his coming to visit Polonnaruwa for a religious observance he was scheduled to attend at the Ispathanarama.

In wake of the reports of the possible protests Police took extra measure to tighten security while the former President addressed the people from MP Roshan Ranasinghe’s Campaign centre instead of the scheduled venue stated MR’s media liaison Mr. Rohan Weliwita.

Nevertheless the former President visited a few sites around Polonnaruwa and in a speech stated that the people who once raised for him white flags of welcome now raise black flags of rejection.
