UK Representatives Met Ranil Wickremesinghe

UK Permanent Under-Secretary at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office Simon McDonald and Permanent Secretary at the UK Department for International Development Mark Lowcock who arrived in the island on an official visit has held discussions with Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.
The discussions were focused on the progress of the reconciliation program implemented by the present government.The UK representatives had commended the interest taken by the current Srilankan administration.
The representatives had also ensured the UK’s fullest support to eradicate bribery and corruption from Sri Lanka.
The UK High Commissioner’s office in Colombo said the discussions were held at the Temple Trees.
Meanwhile, a discussion was also held between the UK representatives and Opposition leader R Sampanthan.
The UK High Commissioner’s office in Colombo said the discussions were focused on challenges faced by the Tamil community and the reconciliation process in Sri Lanka.
The two parties also discussed measures on increasing cooperation between the two countries.
