NCRPM Requested President to Immediately……….

The National Consumer Rights Protection Movement (NCRPM) yesterday requested President Maithripala Sirisena to immediately bring rice under price control.

The NCRPM president Ranjith Withanage said, even though the Minister of Rural Economic Affairs P. Harrison promised to bring in a controlled price for rice within 14 days, on 4 January, the government had failed to keep that promise. Due to that, Withanage stressed, the price of rice is sky rocketing day by day. Therefore, the government should take this situation into consideration and find a permanent solution for it, he added.
