Red light Shown to Good Governance Govt.

At the commencement of the meeting, as organizers failed to remember their pioneering leader, the late Ven. Maduluwawe Sobhitha Thera, there was commotion.
In response organizers said, the true tribute and respect that should be paid to the late Thera was by ensuring the establishment of good governance in the country. Dr. Nirmal Ranjith Devasiri noted that paying respects to the prelate should not be confined to just one minute.However, two minutes silence was observed before commencing on the agenda.
The convener of the People’s Movement for a Just Society, Prof. Sarath Wijesuriya warned the government that it has no right to implement any agenda other than that of the people.
Addressing a meeting at the Colombo library auditorium yesterday (21), he has shown red light  to the government that it should not consider party or political differences when acting against corruption and irregularities taken by law enforcing authorities.
In the same meeting convener of Citizens’ Power Saman Ratnapriya said, they were disappointed by a delay in bringing the corrupt before the law.
