IUSF , Lahiru Weerasekara Violated Court Order Arrested & Remanded Till 15 th July 2016

The Inter University Student Federation had protested on June 15 against the arrest of seven students on allegations of ragging, despite Police had obtained an order prohibiting students from proceeding beyond the Ceramic Junction towards the Presidential Secretariat. However, according to the submission by the police, several students had openly violated  the order, and had said that they do not recognize it.

The Fort Magistrate Court on June 16 ordered the Fort Police to arrest any university students who had defied the court order.

Inter University Student Federation Convener Lahiru Weerasekara, who has violated the court order has been arrested and produced before  Fort Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne,  who remanded him  till July 15
