Increasing Trend in SL Sex Workers

Police reports indicated that the number of sex workers in Sri Lanka is in increasing trend.

The majority of the sex workers are said to be aged between 17 – 35 years and are functioning prominently in urban areas such as Haputale, Bandarawela, Ella, Dambulla, Sigiriya and Anuradhapura.

With more tourists coming into the country, there is a possible trend of males coming out as sex workers, reports said.

In the meantime that there are marked contradictions between research findings of several universities.
