Mahinda Yapa Demands For Referendum On ETCA
Joint Opposition Parliamentarian Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena said, that the peoples’ view on the Indo-Sri Lanka Economic and Technology Cooperative Agreement (ETCA) should be ascertained by way of a referendum,
He was speaking at a press conference at the N. M. Perera Centre in Borella this afternoon.
He said government should hold a referendum to ascertain the people’s opinion on the issue.
Under the good-governance government, this is a must. “In the UK a referendum was held to get the views of the people on whether UK remain in EU or leave and the UK Prime Minister resigned yesterday after result was released defeating his stand.
