Sri Lanka and Singapore have signed five trade agreements. The agreements were signed by Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe at the Istana Palace in Singapore City.
The agreements will enable Sri Lanka to develop several sectors including trade, urban development and culture.
The two countries also engaged in negotiations for a Sri Lanka – Singapore Free Trade Agreement and inked a Memorandum of Understanding to enhance business flows through greater access to partnerships for the development of the Western Region Megapolis.
In the , Sri Lanka and Singapore signed two other MoU’s including cooperation in the cultural field and co-operation on skills development of state officials.
The fifth MOU was signed for Technical and Vocational Education and Training.
