Wimal’s Brother Prohibited From Foreign Trips by Court

Wimal Weerawansa’s eldest brother Sarath Weerawansa was charged  with allegedly misusing a vehicle belonging to the Presidential Secretariat. In this connection he was charged for misappropriating a sum of Rs 8.4 million. When this case was taken up for inquiry yesterday, the Fort Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne has ordered  prohibiting Sarath Weerawansa from  taking foreign trips.

The Fort Magistrate also ordered the Controller of the Immigration and Emigration to detain the suspect if he arrives at the BIA to leave the country.
