Baby buried alive to keep Mother’s secrets

Police have arrested a mother who had buried her living child in the Welikanda-Kudapokuna area.

Police sources stated that the woman who was arrested yesterday (17) is currently receiving medical treatment at the Welikanda Police Hospital.

Initial investigations suggest that the suspect had returned to the country pregnant recently and had been hiding the fact from her husband. She had given birth on the 15^th of June.
