Wimal’s Petition Rejected by the Supreme Court

The Supreme Court yesterday  rejected  a petition filed by Parliamentarian Wimal Weerawansa, who sought to annul investigations in connection with  a case filed by the Bribery Commission over his assets.

The petition was heard by a three member judge bench.

The Supreme Court rejected  the petition claiming the Bribery or Corruption Commission will carry out investigations accordingly.  The Director General of the Bribery or Corruption Commission Dilrukshi Dias said, the case was filed against  MP Weerawansa for allegedly obtaining funds and land.
