Joint Opposition’s Pada Yathra Second Day Today

 Today (29) is the second day of the joint opposition’s Pada Yathra  ‘Jana Satana’, which resumes from Uthuwankanda, the home of Sardiel, the local Robinhood, on the outskirts of Mawanella town. The first day was to end at Mawanella town,but owing to a court order prohibiting the march’s entry there, it concluded at the nearby Ganetenne , a motion to get the order annulled was rejected.

The Kegalle Magistrate refused to grant an order as requested by the police to prevent the protesters from entering Kegalle town. Yesterday evening Former President Mahinda Rajapaksha said the event would begin today  from Uthuwankanda, despite any prohibition. MP Dullas Alahaperumma said all MPs of the Joint Opposition would take part.
