P.B. Jayasundara at Presidential Commission

Former Treasury Secretary Dr. P.B. Jayasundara arrived at the Presidential Commission of Inquiry to Investigate and Inquire into Serious Acts of Fraud, Corruption and Abuse of Power, State Resources and Privileges Presidential Commission  to record  a statement in connection misappropriation of Rs. 5 billion government funds in 2014.
A spokesman for the commission said Dr. Jayasundara was being questioned by the Investigations Unit attached to the Presidential Commission  with regard to a complaint received by the commission over an allegation of importing 100,000 metric tons of rice from an Indian Company against the Cabinet Decisions. He said the government had incurred a loss of Rs.5 billion due to the transaction.
