Astrology Infiltered in to the Department of Exam

Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa was famous for consulting astrologers before he under took or started any project or work.  He is reported to have consulted astrologer Sumanathasa  regarding last Presidential Election . It was Sumanathasa, who advised him to call the last Presidential Election before completing the term and fixed the election date. What happened there after is a public secret .

Even Government officials appears to have been following the footsteps of Mahinda. G.C.E. Advanced Level exam was originally planned to start on August 01, but astrologers had advised that it was inauspicious to hold the examination on that day being a Monday.

Authorities had taken advice from astrologers to commence the GCE advanced level examination on August 02, reports say.

Top officials of the department are unhappy over continued attempts to promote such myths.
