Murali Vijay fined for ‘illegal’ logo on bat

Indian batsman Murali Vijay has been fined by the ICC for an ‘illegal’ logo on his bat during the Fatullah Test against Bangladesh.

The opener has been fined 25 percent of his match fee.

The logo was at one of the edges in the bottom half of the bat, according to ESPNcricinfo.

A new ICC rule, in force from May 1 this year, says: “Any number of Manufacturer’s Identification and/or design feature is permitted on the edge of the bat but only within the top 9 inches.”

The rain-marred Fatullah Test ended in a draw. (ESPN)
