Srilanka Tourist Arrivals up 19-pct in July, Crosses 1mn

Sri Lanka’s tourist arrivals in July were up 19 percent to 209,351, with China and India showing the strongest growth, the state tourism office said.
Arrivals up to the first seven months rose 16.7 percent to 1.17 million visitors.
India remains the largest source market with a 12 percent growth in July to 27,665. In the first seven month arrivals rose 18 percent to 200,508.
Chinese arrivals were up 21.9 to 30,631 from an year ago while in the seven months it rose to 168,473, up by 37 percent.
In Europe the United Kingdom rose to 23,948 visitors, 16 percent and Germany showed a rise of 29 percent to 10,971.
