Rugby player, Wasim Thajudeen was killed in an accident on 17 May 2012. Followed by the change of the Government, investigation on this killing was resurrected. Police investigation revealed that it was not an accident. But a murder covered up with the help of high ranging officers of the police force then.
A CCTV footage produced in court in this connection was not clear enough to identify the person involved. Hence police made an application to send this footage to foreign experts and get a report
For various reasons this footage remained in Srilanka without being sent to Canada. Since all obstacles and hurdles have now been cleared , a team led by an ASP is scheduled to take this CCTV footage to Canada on 22nd August 2016.
