56 Garment workers hospitalized

 

56 workers at a garment factory in the Katunayake Investment Promotion Zone (KIZ) were hospitalized a short while ago with symptoms of food poisoning.

The workers had fallen ill after consuming food supplied by their place of employment this morning.

Workers were admitted to the Ragama Teaching Hospital while the other 26 were admitted to the Minuwangoda Hospital.

The Police are conducting further investigation into the incident.
