Welikada Prison to be Moved to Horana.

A cabinet paper has been presented to  relocate the Welikada Prison at Horana. Secretary of the Ministry of Resettlement, Rehabilitation and Resettlement and Prison Reforms V. Sivagnasothy said, the new prison will be constructed on a land of 20 acres in the Soranawatta area in Horana. Further, he said that a detention center will also be constructed on a four-acre land in the vicinity of the Colombo Hulftsdorp Court to temporarily accommodate suspects. Work will start on approval obtain from the cabinet, he concluded.
