Peter Nevill Cheekily Stumps Dimuth Karunaratne in Australia Vs Sri Lanka Third Test

Australian wicketkeeper Peter Nevill has had a tough time with the bat through this Sri Lankan series but his game awareness remains as sharp as ever.

Karunaratne had been squared up and missed a spinning delivery by Nathan Lyon, with the delivery pouched by Nevill. But as Karunaratne then rehearsed his stroke, he lifted his back leg, which had been inside the crease – all while Nevill patiently held on to the ball. As the back leg slightly lifted, Nevill whipped off the bails.

Nevill completed one of the cheekier – but clever – dismissals when he had opener Dimuth Karunaratne stumped early on day four of the third Test at the Sinhalese Sports Club ground.
