Basil to be Indicted on 19th October

Former Minister of Economic Development Basil Rajapaksa and three others are charged with misappropriating 30 million rupees from the Divi Neguma Department during the tenure of the United People’s Freedom Alliance led government.

The Colombo High Court has decided to issue indictments to former Minister of Economic Development Basil Rajapaksa and three others on 19th of October regarding  financial discrepancies detected and  reported at the Divi Neguma Department.

The indictment orders were delayed after one of the suspects involved in the case, former Director General of the Divi Neguma Department RAAK Ranawaka, was summoned for a separate case.

Accordingly the court issued summons to four suspects to appear before the Colombo High Court on the 19th of October.
