On August 28th 2016, the wife of an Army Cornel was severely injured in a shooting at a house in Isurupura, Malabe. On 30th August the Leftinent Colonel connected with this shooting incident was arrested. The Athurugiriya Police carried out search operation to recover the weapon used in this shooting with the help of Army and Navy. Police on Wednesday recovered another pistol used by the suspect from the same location. Police said, the 5mm Chinese made pistol had been found loaded with ammunition.
