Colombo High Court Allowed Rohitha Abeygunawardena to Travel Abroad

Colombo High Court today allowed former Minister and UPFA MP Rohitha Abeygunawardena to travel abroad for a month.

Rohitha Abeygunawardena Before Court Today
The case filed by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption against United People’s Freedom Alliance Parliamentarian Rohitha Abeygunawardena, for failing to declare his assets amounting to 41.2 million rupees, will be taken up for hearing today(9).
The High Court Judge will also hear a petition filed by MP Abeygunawardena, seeking permission to travel overseas. The Parliamentarian filed a petition on Monday requesting court to grant permission in order to leave the country for a period of one month from 24th of September 2016.
The case was taken up for hearing on Monday(26) before Colombo High Court Judge Nishanka Bandula Karunaratne. High court Judge Karunaratne also requested the Attorney General’s Department, to file their submissions pertaining to the case today.
A finger print report of MP Abeygunawardena is also scheduled to be submitted before court during today’s hearing.
