Is Duminda Silva Given a Different Treatment in Prison?

Former MP Duminda Silva  was kept in a cell in Ward C 03 after he was given death sentence for the murder of Bharatha Lakshman Premachandra. However, he was moved to a different ward since Gampola Vidanelage Samantha Kumara alias ‘Wele Suda’ is also in Ward C 03. Wele Suda, who has been handed death sentence for drug trafficking, revealed his past connections with Silva during his trial.

Hence, Duminda was kept in Ward B 03 of the Welikada Prison as a safety measure.

Meanwhile ‘Dematagoda Chaminda’, who was also convicted along with Silva, was moved to Kandy prison as a safety measure.
