Is Duminda Given Special Privilege?

Immediately after death sentence was passed on Duminda Silva and 4 others in Bharatha Lakshman’s murder case, he was taken to the prison. It has been the practice in the prison for condemned prisoners to hand over all their belongings to the jail superintendent and change their cloths. They should wear the cloths given by the prison Authorities to condemned prisoners. In the case of Duminda Silva, instead of following above procedure, he has walked into the Jail superintendent’s office and sat there for one hour, while other 3 prisoners changed their uniforms and got into the rooms assigned to death sentenced prisoners. Other prisoners reported to have said, that this is a prelude to get special treatment by Duminda during his jail term.
