Soundarya Rajinikanth Confirms Separation from Husband Ashwin

The news has come as an absolute shocker for millions of fans of Rajinikanth. The couple dated each other for about four years before getting hitched at a grand wedding ceremony in 2010 which was attended by high-profile people from the film industry, politics, and business. They have a one-year-old son, Ved.

Superstar Rajinikanth’s younger daughter Soundarya has confirmed that her marriage with Chennai-based industrialist Ashwin Ramkumar is on a shaky ground and the couple has been contemplating divorce.

Her comments came after reports about her troubled marriage dominated the media coverage.

Soundarya Rajinikanth tweeted thus :

“News about my marriage is true. We have been separated for over a year and divorce talks are on. I request all to respect my family’s privacy”.

Earlier, reports suggested that the celebrity couple had filed for a divorce by mutual consent in the family court. However, now it is clear that their marriage is still within the realms of the family, giving a chance for the elders and well-wishers of the couple to make last-ditch efforts to save the wedlock.

Ashwin, meanwhile, has remained tight-lipped. He even refused to comment when asked by the media on the matter.

It was a rare sight to see Ashwin accompanying Soundarya at public functions or the film promotional events. Besides, earlier, Soundarya was active on social media tweeting about interesting family moments with her husband. However, lately she has stopped doing that and it didn’t go unnoticed. All these developments had fuelled media speculations about the state of her marriage with Ashwin.
