Injury forces Haris Sohail to return to Pakistan

Pakistan’s left-arm all-rounder Haris Sohail has suffered an injury during practice which has forced him to return to Pakistan, Express News reported.

The team management received Haris’ reports and the doctors have suggested him two weeks rest in order to gain full recovery.

Meanwhile, Pakistan team is preparing to take on Sri Lanka in the second Test where they will be eyeing a win to bag their first series win after 2006.

Muhammad Hafeez was also seen bowling and batting in practice. According to the ICC, he is supposed to go to Chennai for tests to check his bowling action. If found guilty, he can be banned from bowling for a year.

Earlier on Sunday, Pakistan beat Sri Lanka by 10 wickets in a match which saw the first day wasted due to rain. Yasir Shah was the hero of the match with nine wickets in two innings.

Pakistan captain Misbahul Haq was optimistic that if they can play Herath confidently they could win the series.

“Playing Herath confidently was the key for us,” said Misbah. “It’s a good sign for us because he is a very good bowler and could have done a lot more.

“We need to keep this going to win the series because he is a tough competitor capable of doing anything.”
