Mahindananda Aluthgamage Continued to be in Remand………

The CID disclosed that there are several fraudulent transactions done by Former Sports Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage has come to light.
The CID today informed   the court today that six cases of fraud, including one regarding a property in London are being investigated. In the case regarding the property in London, Aluthgamage had claimed, that his brother gave him money. However, there were no records of the transaction produced in support  of his claim, the CID said. As per law of the land, such a transaction of foreign money had to be declared to the state. Further, 51 construction projects under the Sports Ministry have to be investigated, the CID said, adding that 40 of these cases are yet to be looked into.
Aluthgamage was arrested on September 15 for alleged financial fraud concerning the purchase of a house in Kynsey Road, Colombo.
As the CID informed the Court  that investigations into the alleged financial misconduct by him are being investigated and need time,he was further remanded till  27th September 2016  by Colombo Magistrate Courts .
