How Many Properties Basil Rajapakshe Owns?
The FCID has questioned Basil Rajapaksa in connection with several properties purported to have been owned by him through proxies and arrested him. He was later released on bail.
His properties in Kaduwela and Brown’s Hill in Matara had been confiscated following legal steps.
Now, the FCID has made an application to the Pugoda magistrate’s court today (22) seeking permission to confiscate the house at Malwana in Gampaha, reported to have been owned by former minister Basil Rajapaksa. Pugoda Magistrate has given time to FCID to gather more information on this house and postponed the case to 4th October 2016.
