New Court to Fast Track Bribery Corruption Cases

It has been the order of the day that one or two  politicians and their henchmen are arrested by the police and remanded. Within a week or two they are granted bail and cases keep on postpone for ever. People of this country watching thus development become suspicious of the Government  efforts to remove bribery and corruption in the country. Hence, the need arise to fast track these cases.

The attention of the government has been drawn towards the establishment of a new court to fast track the hearing of cases pertaining to corruption.

The new Court will ensure that cases filed by the Police Financial Crimes Investigation Division and the Commission to Investigative Allegations of Bribery or Corruption are heard promptly.

The Ministry of Justice said the Ministry has already received a couple of proposals in this regard.

A proposal was tabled in Parliament recently calling for investigations and hearings into the case to be fast tracked.
