MR Sheds Crocodile Tears for Lankan Muslims – Aluthgama Victims Says

When Muslims in Aluthgama was attacked, most of the Muslim Leaders kept silent except Rishad Bathiudeen, who raised his voice on behalf of Aluthgama Muslim Victims and demanded immediate action by the then President MR. Instead of taking immediate action, he kept quiet except holding a few discussions with the Parties of the conflict. In this incident, life and property of Muslims were lost and destroyed. Despite death and destruction no arrest was taken.
Followed by this incident, Muslims determined to send him from Presidential palace to his home at Medamulana. Thereafter Presidential election came and all powerful Mahinda was defeated. Minorities especially Muslims voted against Mahinda Rajapakshe. Only after his defeat, he realised his folly and now he is trying to embrace Muslims.
He invited Muslims to his office at the Nelum Mawatha, Battaramulla,  Colombo on Wednesday for a meeting with them. In this meeting he said thus:
“The Muslims could be rest assured that they will be protected and given all their rights as much as the Sinhalese and Tamils. I have never been a communalist nor can I be one in the future” said.
Aluthgama Victims say that Mahinda is  now shedding  Crocodile Tears and Muslims should not be taken for a ride again.
