Raina leads all-round India to 77-run win

Half-centuries from Dhawan and Dhoni and great spells from Kulkarni and Ashwin help visitor end tour of Bangladesh on a high

India put up its best showing of the series in the third and final One-Day International against Bangladesh, to run away with a 77-run victory after the batsmen had powered it to 317 for 6 – the highest score of the series.

The win meant the series ended 2-1 in favour of Bangladesh – its first-ever bilateral series win against its neighbours.

India put up its best batting performance, helmed by Shikhar Dhawan’s fluency at the top, MS Dhoni’s counter-punching in the middle and a late flourish led by Suresh Raina, who had a fine all-round day. Bangladesh stayed in the match for half of its chase on Wednesday (June 24) at the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium in Mirpur, before ending at 240 all out in 47 overs.
