Ravi to Complain Over Fake FB & Twitter Accounts

Minister of Finance Ravi Karunanayake has instructed officials of his  Ministry to lodge a complaint to the CID  regarding fake Facebook account and an interconnected Twitter account operating under his name.

Issuing a statement the Ministry said the Facebook account was operating under the name Ravi Karunanayake Lanka Intelligence and the twitter account @RavikOfficial implying them as the official accounts of the Finance Minister, which his similar to real official accounts.

Minister Karunanayake claimed  that he has no connection to the pages claiming they publish news detrimental to the interests of the national unity government and hinders the coexistence of society.

The statement also said it has been brought to the notice  of the Computer Emergency Readiness Team too.
