Teldeniya Magistrate Sentenced 8 Students to Probation

Eight  students, from three major schools in Kandy residents of Menikhinna and Kengalla,  in school uniform were arrested   for the possession of cannabis by police in the Oruthota area in Teldeniya.

The suspects were produced at court today while each of them were granted personal bail of Rs 25,000 and handed over to Child Care Services to operate the rehabilitation process while judicial action is being continued.

They have been sentenced to probation by the Teldeniya Magistrate’s Court.
