​“I will contest only from SLFP” – MR

 

“I will contest the next election only from the United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) led by the SLFP”, stated Ex-President Mahinda Rajapaksa to the committee which was now attempting to unite the SLFP, sources stated.

These sources also indicated that the former President had not requested for the candidacy of the premier. He had stated so to this committee when they met yesterday at his residence in Mirihana.

The former President had reiterated that he had no intention of splitting up the party.
