Misuse of Rs 70 Million By Namal to Promote Rugby Case Finalized by FCID

 The FCID informed the Colombo Fort Magistrates’ court today that the investigative report has been sent to the Attorney General in order to obtain his advice on steps that should  be taken  in this case.

The Police Financial Crimes Investigations Division has concluded its investigations into a complaint filed against United Peoples Freedom Alliance Parliamentarian Namal Rajapakse for allegedly misusing 70 million rupees allocated for the promotion of Rugby by a private firm and sought  AG’s advise.

Accordingly Fort Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne ordered that the case be taken up for hearing on the 30th of March 2017.
