Rajitha Alleged ‘Aava’ Gang was Created By Gota

Co-Cabinet Spokesman Dr. Rajitha Senaratne said yesterday that the ‘Aava’ gang operating in the north was the creation of former Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa. For this purpose he has selected a few brigadiers, who  provided food, shelter,  arms and  ammunition. There was some justification for its operation during tigers were active.  But there is no justification in continuing with it.

He also claimed that the ‘Aava’ gang was receiving its orders from those who created it in the first place.

He also added that the gang will be controlled and that its members will be arrested in near future.

There is no one who can stop them being arrested, he said.

The ‘Aava’ gang came to the limelight recently when they claimed the responsibility for attacking two policemen in Chunnakam, Jaffna.

However, Former Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa yesterday vehemently denied the allegations made by Rajitha Senaratne.
