Partially Blind Sharp eyed prevented a Yal Devi Derailment

Thambuthegama Vijitha (44) who lost sight of his one eye was returning from a temple noticed railway line was damaged around 3 feet between Thambuthegama and Senarathgama. He called police emergency unit and informed immediately. Then he saw Yal Devi was moving towards him. He rushed to a nearby house and pulled out a red cloth and signaled the driver, who stopped the train thus avoiding major accident safeguarding 2500 passengers on board. Railway employees rush to the spot and repaired the railway line. There was one hour delay experienced by passengers of Yal Devi day before yesterday.
